I recently opened an account with Interactive Brokers only to discover I can’t actually purchase penny stocks as they want you to have been trading for a few years or to have made 100 trades in the last year. I’m aware I can just change my own settings and effectively lie but I’d rather not. I know Trading 212 has a lot less options in terms of penny stocks compared to IB, but as it may be my only option, I’m contemplating opening an account. I just wanted to check if any similar permissions/restrictions were also applicable with T212?
Alternatively, if anyone knows of legitimate way I can actually be granted permission to invest in pennies on IB that would be great.
