I track a bunch of funds for historical reasons and occasionally the odd one disappears. Today it was ‘LionTrust European Income Fund’ (ISIN: GB00BD2WZ436). The prices stopped updating about a week ago, but now all references to it throw 404s (e.g. Morning Star, HL, TrustNet, FT) and LionTrust themselves don’t have any information on it at all. Google cached links are now empty.
Why do Fund managers seemingly wipe old funds from history and is there anywhere to find out why a specific fund has ceased? Previous ones I’ve been able to pin down to two funds being merged. This one nada, zilch. It seems odd to me that you can’t even get historical data on these defunct funds.
