Two arrested as landlord ‘threatened with knife’ in apartment covid breach

A landlord was reportedly threatened with a knife by men who refused to leave a flat after breaching lockdown rules.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident at an apartment in Southside late on Saturday, January 30.

Police were called and two men, aged 27 and 28, were detained on suspicion of affray.

They were later released pending further enquiries.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We arrested two men following a disturbance at a flat in Birmingham city centre at around 11.30pm on Saturday (30 January).

“A 27-year-old and a 28-year-old were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released pending further enquiries.”

West Midlands Alerts tweeted: “West Midlands Police have arrested two males from an apartment in Southside in Birmingham city centre

“They refused to leave after breaching Covid restrictions and threatened the landlord with a large knife. Officers forced entry and detained both males.”
