Police officer injured after brick thrown through patrol car in Chelmsley Wood


A female officer received a nasty head injury after a brick was thrown through the window of her patrol car.

The shocking incident took place last night (Sunday) as she was sitting in a marked police car with another officer in Maytree Close, Chemsley Wood.

She was waiting in the car for a recovery vehicle to arrive as they had suffered a flat tyre when the incident happend at around 11.15pm.

The police officer’s head injury

A brick was thrown through the rear window which hit her on the head.

The officer − who doesn’t wish to be named − suffered a head injury that required medical treatment from paramedics.

She suffered minor cuts to the head but was very shaken up and upset about what happened.

The suspect was riding a bike and was dressed in black clothing.

A statement from West Midlands Police said: “We’re appealing for information after one of our officers was hit after a brick was thrown through the window of her car last night (31 January).

“Two officers were sitting in a marked police car in Maytree Close, Chemsley Wood, at around 11.15pm doing some paperwork, while waiting for recovery as they had a flat tyre.

“A brick was thrown through the rear window, which hit one of our officers on the head.

“The officer − who doesn’t wish to be named − suffered a head injury which required medical treatment from our ambulance colleagues.

“Fortunately she is ok − although she is shaken and upset about what happened.

“The suspect was riding a bike and was dressed in black clothing.
