NHS support mental health patients|Phone Hacking

The rule of trusting your doctors is changing in the new NHS trail to spy on mental health patients. NHS will be allowed to act as survilence by accessing mobile phone data to check on patients state of your mental wellness.

A new proposal from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, history of calls, messages and locations would be in records along side with health history. NHS claims such trail is needed to foresee mental health crisis with patients.

Getting the green light with the new trail the Trust is now seeking advice from the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) regarding the use of mobile phone data, which they hope will further improve the technology.

For me it just seems a strange idea,

“It’s a bit like people monitoring social media and then automatically alerting the police if you type a post saying ‘I’m feeling a little bit down today’. It just seems really creepy to me. Dr Neil Bhatia, a GP and Information Governance Lead
