Ex On The Beach’s Ashley Cain has raised £1m in less than 24 hours for life-saving surgery for his baby daughter.
Ex-Tamworth football star Ashley, 30, revealed this weekend Azaylia Diamond Cain is battling leukaemia in hospital.
He and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee set up a fundraiser on website GoFundMe to help raise cash.
Among those donating was businessman Umar Kamani, top flight and England footballer Luke Shaw and celebrities such as Kate Ferdinand and Molly-Mae Hague.
He said: “I am absolutely lost for words. I’m overwhelmed at the sheer amount of support that you guys have given us.
“People have shared the post, donated – honestly the amount of kindness that you’ve shown, the amount you have helped us, it’s just incredible. Me and my family are eternally grateful to you guys!”
He continued: “I went on my phone to see thousands of messages, I thought they were going to say we were close but the fact that we’ve hit it and we’re way above is just incredible! So listen guys thank you! Thank you so much!”
He said on Friday that he and partner Safiyya Vorajee were devastated as they had been left with “very few options” in hoping their daughter beats the illness.
The latest fundraising efforts will go towards what Ashley said is the “only option” to save his daughter’s life.
They will fly Azaylia to Singapore for CAR-T therapy plus a haplo transplant, for a minimum period of one year.
Ashley is also known for his brief career as an MTV reality TV personality – both in starring in the series, Ex on the Beach and competing on the reality game show, The Challenge, on the War of the Worlds edition of the show.
